IRINI PASI TO THESSALONIKI FESTIVAL
Irini Pasi has been invited to the 12th International Choral Festival in Thessaloniki!
The event will take place from 9 to 10 November 2019 at the Salone dei Concerti in Thessaloniki
Here is our short presentation that convinced the organization to invite us as an Italian Byzantine singing group.

Irini Pasi Ensemble (Turin, Italy)
1. Brief history of the Ensemble Irini Pasi
Irini Pasi Ensemble is an Italian vocal group based in Byzantine-Roman Italy. It was born in 2010 from the idea of Prof. ssa Irene Rotondale with the aim of spreading Byzantine ecclesiastical music in Italy.
The choir sings in Greek and Italian the most beautiful pieces by composers of the Great Church of Christ including Petrou Peloponnisios, Ioannis Protopsaltis, Iacobos Protopsaltis and Petru Mpereketis.
The choir is composed of students and professional singers and performs for the occasion as a vocal quartet.
2. Curriculum of the choir in brief
IRINI PASI has been working since 2012 on the spread of Byzantine chant in Italy.
He was ranked 1st with the diploma of merit at the International Competition of Sacred Song “Iréne” in 2015.
He has participated in many cultural events and has performed at the Duomo of Turin, the Church of S. Maria del Monte dei Cappuccini, the Mole Antonelliana, the Palazzo Saluzzo Paesana, the Club dei Lettori and the Monastery of Pra d” Mill in the context of the event of “Turin Spirituality.
He participated in Salerno Festival 2012 and Festival Alta Pusteria.
He recorded the number 3 cd, “Themelia” in 2012 – “Il Misericordiosissimo” in 2015 and the “Fiore di Iesse” in 2018.
2b. The Direction and the Idea
Director and creator of the project is Irene Rotondale, liturgical singer at the Greek Orthodox Church of the Nativity of St. John the Baptist in Turin, singing teacher with a diploma in music therapy and a degree in Byzantine music from the State Conservatory of Kavala in Greece.
